Italy lead once more |
The ding-dong struggle for the leadership of the Generali European Open Teams Championship continued as the defending Champions Italy went back to the top of the table. France dropped to second while Spain recorded their sixth successive win to move into third place. Norway are fourth despite losing three of their last four matches. Poland has won their last three matches to move into fifth place while Bulgaria has fallen to sixth. Five victories on the trot have taken Israel into seventh place and the Netherlands and Sweden follow them. It is beginning to look as if these nine teams will be the ones to contest the qualifying places.
Seven victories in a row have seen the Austrian ladies storm to the top of the table in the Generali European Ladies Team Championship. They are just ahead of the Netherlands and France but are 16VP clear of the defending Champions Great Britain. Fifth placed Denmark are followed by Norway, who are struggling to maintain their place in the top six having lost four of their last five matches. Two days ago Germany was nowhere to be seen but they are now breathing down the necks of the leading group.
It is beginning to look as if the holders of the Generali European Seniors Teams Championship will retain their title as France 1 have opened up a 24VP lead over second placed PE/France. Poland 1 has broken the French hegemony by moving into third place. |
