The French team that started yesterday in fourth place swept to the top of the table with 180VP. They are pursued by Popova's Bulgarian /Turkish/Israeli tripartite squad on 171VP. Third place is held by Italy's Fornaciari on 167VP. Fourth place is occupied by yet another transnational outfit, the Norwegian/Polish combination, Mali with 164 VP.

These four teams are in the box seats, but the chasing pack includes severalof the fancied teams, including those captained by Stoppa, Willard, Lavazza and the holders, Auken.
