Farewell Address from José Damiani
President World Bridge Federation

Dear Friends,

First and foremost, I wish to congratulate the winners of these European Championship, Italy (Open), Great Britain (Ladies) and France (Seniors). You have all played magnificently, with your normal high ethics, and Europe can be proud of you. Indeed, all the teams must be proud and happy to have competed in such a Championship.

I make no apology for mentioning one man in particular, however - Jean Marc Roudinescou, whose courage and sportsmanship have impressed all who know him. He is to be congratulated on his great achievement here, not just as a winner, but as a man of great fortitude and personal strength.

It is a great pleasure for me to invite all the winning teams - the leading six teams in the Open and Ladies Series and the winning Seniors Team - to Bermuda to compete in the 50th Orbis Bermuda Bowl & Orbis Venice Cup as well as the new Seniors Championship. The WBF will be very happy to see you in Bermuda next January.

We hope, also, that as many teams as possible will join us in Bermuda during the second week for the 2nd Orbis World Transnational Teams.

José Damiani
President World Bridge Federation
