The 2023 European Youth Pairs Championships (“the Championships”) will be conducted under the auspices of the European Bridge League (‘the EBL’) at the NH Eindhoven Conference Centre, Koningshof, Eindhoven, Netherlands, commencing on Monday 24th July 2023 and ending not later than Saturday 29th July 2023. The Championships consists of 5 Series in age-limited pairs (Under 31, Under 26 open, Under 26 Women, Under 21 and Under 16), plus one series in the Mixed pairs.
The Championships are match pointed pairs tournaments.
Pairs not qualifying for the Pairs Finals in the five series may play in the President’s Cup,
which is a match-pointed transnational and trans-series competition.

• Conditions of Contest
Attention is drawn to the Competitor's Commitment Form and Parental Consent Form (for participants under 18) that must be signed by each participant. Details and a copy of the form can be found in the links below.
• Entries - Registration
Entries to the events should be submitted electronically via the EBL Website (not by email) until 15st of July, 2023. Later entries will be accepted only if technically convenient. There is no restrictions on numbers of entries per NBO.
Participation in the Championships is by invitation by the EBL. Subject to the Eligibility Code
of the EBL and the unfettered discretion of the EBL Credentials Committee, invitations will
be issued to pairs where each member of the partnership:
- was born on or after 1 January 1993 for the U31 series or the Mixed, or on or after 1 January 1998 for the U26 and Women series, or on or after 1
January 2003 for the U21 series, or on or after 1 January 2008 for the U16 series.
- was nominated by the NBO of an EBL/WBF member country, which is in good standing
with the EBL/WBF and not in arrears in the payment of membership dues to the EBL/WBF.
The Mixed Pairs and all five series in the Pairs are for National or Translational pairs. The President’s Cup (see
section 3a) is transnational and trans-series.
Each pair must play against any other pair as designated by the organizing committee
and/or Tournament Director. Entry and subsequent refusal to play will result in
disqualification. Other consequences are possible at the discretion of the EBL.
By entering, each player accepts that he may be photographed, filmed or video-taped.
The names of the players submitted to the EBL website will
be transmitted to the EBL Credentials Committee for consideration of approval of
participation.
Only accredited people can enter the venue of the Championships.
Competitor’s Commitment
Attention is drawn to Article 2.8 of the EBL GCoC. Players are expected to have signed the EBL Competitor’s Commitment Form (click here) before the start of the event.
Parental Consent
Each participant who has not reached the age of 18 years by the start of the event must submit the Parental Consent form (click here) signed by their parent/s or legal guardian. Submission of this form is a condition of participation in the competition.

• Youth Coaches Seminar
Following the success of the previous Youth Coach Seminars, these Championships will again include a two-day Youth Coach Seminar.
The EBL will cover 3 nights of accommodation for EBL's NBO's officials (arrival on the 27th and departure on the 30th July). The Seminar is free of charge with a maximum of two participants per NBO; participants only pay for their travel.
EBL highly recommends that EBL's NBO representatives be sent to the Youth Coach Seminar. These may be youth coordinators, coaches, or any related officials.
