• Host City
Tallinn is the capital and most populous city of Estonia. With its population of about 454,000 citizens, it is the country’s main financial, industrial, and cultural centre.
Tallinn is situated on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea. Tallin is a fascinating mixture of the old and traditional with the new and ultra-modern. On one hand, the Old Town of Tallinn, featuring the St. Olav's Church that is referred to as the world’s tallest building of the 2nd half of 16th century, became a World Heritage Site in 1997.
On the other hand, Tallinn has the highest number of startup companies per person among all capitals and larger cities in Europe and is the birthplace of many international high-tech companies, including Skype, Wise and Bolt. More recently, in 2022 Tallinn was listed among the top-10 "medium-sized European cities of the future” and in 2023 Tallinn won the European Green Capital Award.
