5th EBL TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS COURSE

The 5th EBL Tournament Directors Course will be held from 31st August to 5th September 2001 at:

Schedule

The complete schedule and work programme will be sent before the end of July but please note that the Course will start on Friday 31st August at 16.30 and the Farewell Dinner will be held on Tuesday 4th September at 20.00 followed by a Tournament. The departures are scheduled for Wednesday 5th September after breakfast.

Objectives of the Course

The primary objectives of the course are:

  1. to support the NBOs in their activity of training and updating the knowledge of Tournament Directors;
  2. to offer the NBO Tournament Directors the possibility to improve their professional knowledge in the technique of directing, to learn the correct behaviour and approach to the table, to increase their knowledge of the International Code, Code of Practice, Laws, Rules and Regulations;
  3. to compile the list of NBOs International Tournament Directors and EBL Tournament Directors to register in the EBL Official Tournament Director Register.

Organisation of the Course

The course will be organised on two different levels: for TDs who have international experience and for those who do not. For this reason the course will start with a test for all participants.
At the end of the Course there will be a final test which will consist of an oral part and a written part, to evaluate the professional qualification for appointment on the EBL Official T.D. Register or to achieve a superior qualification for those TDs already registered. A certificate of attendance and a pass certificate will be given.

Participation at the Course

Each NBO may send all their TDs who have participated in the previous EBL TD Courses in Amsterdam 1993 and Milan 1996, plus a maximum of two TDs who have not previously attended. Additional places may be available depending on entry numbers.

Special Arrangements

A special package with the Hotel has been arranged for participants and their accompanying guests. This consists of the welcome cocktail, farewell dinner, full board accommodation in a double room from dinner on Friday 31st August to breakfast on Wednesday 5th September, transfer from Milan Airport and back. The cost of the package per person is SFr. 450 or Lit. 580.000. The supplement for a single room is SFr. 80 or Lit.100.000. The cost will be paid at the Hotel at registration.
