• Format
Each Series (Open, Women, Seniors and Mixed) will play a complete Round Robin of 10 board matches. Each Series will play its own boards.
• Programme
The duration for each series is as follows:
Open: 6 days (August 23 - August 28), with 5 matches per day except August 26th when there are 6 matches.
Women: 4 days (August 25 - August 28), with 5 matches per day except August 25th when there are 4 matches.
Seniors: 6 days (August 23 - August 28), with 4 matches per day except August 23rd when there are 3 matches.
Mixed: 5 days (August 24 - August 28), with 4 matches per day except August 26th when there are 5 matches

The draw (schedule of matches) is as follows:
• Playing Venues
Play will take place online on the RealBridge platform.
NBOs will assemble their players in clusters domestically, and play will be under the supervision of independent Observers. Detailed lay-out of such venues will be subject to EBL approval. Further details have been communicated separately to the NBOs.
• Observers
Each participating NBO will nominate Observers, subject to EBL approval, willing to travel to a venue in a nearby country. A separate protocol is issued and communicated directly to the appointed Observers. The Observers will not perform any TD duties.
• Tournament Directors
EBL registered TDs will operate both at the “tables” within the RealBridge platform and in a separate virtual area for consultation and eventual polling of other experts.
• Spectators/Kibitzers
No persons other than the active Players and Observers will be allowed in the playing area.
Delayed online kibitzing of all tables will be available.
• Rules of Play
Detailed technical aspects will be communicated in a memo to players.

Attention is drawn to the Competitor's Commitment Form that must be signed by each participant. Details and a copy of the form can be found in the links above.
• Entries - Registration
Entries should be submitted electronically via the EBL Website (not by email) latest by the 12th of July, 2021. Player names should be registered latest by the 2nd of August 2021.
Each team may consist of 4-6 players, nominated by their NBOs, with no player allowed to participate in more than one team. Every participant must, along with other criteria, satisfy the EBL Eligibility rules and be accepted for invitation by the EBL Credentials Committee.
Each member NBO is authorised to enter one team in each Competition. NBOs must have paid the entry fee and be in good standing with the EBL, including payment of 2021 dues to the EBL.
Each participating NBO must play against all other participating NBOs. Entry and subsequent refusal to play will result in disqualification and possible disciplinary measures.
Each pair in the Mixed Team Competition must have one player of each gender.
To participate in the Seniors’ Competitiona player must be aged 62 or older during 2021.
• Entry Fees

The Entry Fees are € 600 per team in the Open and Seniors, € 400 in the Womens and € 500 in the Mixed Categories. Payment of Entry Fees should be made latest by the 26th of July 2021.

Important Note:
The payment instructions must include, as reference, the NBO name and Series. N.B.: If a payment is a lumpsum including fees for several Series, all separate NBOs/series must be mentioned.
• Systems
The EBL Systems Policy (Revised January 2020) apply to these Competitions. All four Competitions are classified as Category 3 events (no HUMs or Brown Sticker methods). Both members of a partnership must adopt the same methods in the auction and in their carding. sss
All the systems have now been registered. Please note that minor amendments / clarifications will be accepted up to 15 August and will be marked REV 1 (REV 2 etc) and uploaded to the sites linked below (changes should be sent to anna@ecats.co.uk).
The cards are being looked over by members of the Systems Committee, but this does not imply overall approval of all the information displayed on the card. Teams (or players if their emails are known) will be contacted with details of amendments that should be made where these have been noticed.
