The 17th European Champions’ Cup ("the Championship") is to be played under the auspices of the European Bridge League in the King Solomon Hotel, Eilat, commencing on Thursday 8th November 2018 and ending on Saturday 10th November 2018.
The Championships format is the following:
At the start there will be a complete round-robin with 11 matches of 10 boards. Then there will be Semi-Finals and Final in two segments of 16 boards. For the Round Robin draw click here.
For the Semi-Finals and Final. The 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups according to their ranking at the end of the round-robin.
- 1 to 4: Group A For the Semi-Finals, 1 choses his opponent between 3 and 4
- 5 to 8: Group B For the Semi-Finals, 5 choses his opponent between 7 and 8
- 9 to 12: Group C For the Semi-Finals, 9 choses his opponent between 11and 12
At the end of the Semi-Finals, the winners from the same groups meet as do the losers; this allows a complete ranking from 1 to 12.

• Entries - Registration
Eligible teams need to confirm their participation by the 15th September 2018. Please send your application to the EBL Secretariat, Catherine Vitry, at secretariat@europeanbridge.org. This information should include
(i) The name of the club to which the team belongs. If the team is composed of players from different clubs the team will be named with the name of the captain followed by National Champion.
(ii) The names of the players (4‐6) and Captain (and coach if applicable)
(iii) The name and email address of the person authorized to receive further information.
Teams are asked to submit their systems to the EBL Systems Administrator, Anna Gudge, at anna@ecats.co.uk by the 26th October 2018.

The Isrotel King Solomon Hotel will apply the following special rates (Half Board per day/person) for the participants and their companions:
i) Single room = 145 € (135 € for stay of 5 nights or more)
ii) Double room = 97,50 € (90 € for stay of 5 nights or more)
The participants to the Champions’ Cup are invited to stay for the 24th Red Sea International Bridge Festival (8th-18th November).

• Prizes
1st Team - EBL Gold Medal - Trophy
2nd Team - EBL Silver Medal
3rd Team - EBL Bronze Medal
The winning team will receive the Trophy and the title of European Champion Club as well as the right to participate in the next edition.
Master Points will be awarded in accordance with the EBL Master Points scheme, provided that the player has played at least one third of the boards played by his team in the round robin stage and at least half the boards played by his team in the last KO match won by his team.
