The EBL has a new web site. After five years as guests in the WBF
site, the EBL has now its own independent site in cyberspace. The
              address of the site is:

                   www.eurobridge.org
The new site was launched at the beginning of these Championships
last Monday. It has a modern design and operates dynamically
                    to a large extend.
The design aims to be aesthetically attractive, but also
operationally correct. This is achieved by ensuring that the
navigational menus remain visible at almost all times. A further
positive feature is that the user knows at all times which
parts of the site he has visited since the last login.
The site is quite dynamic in that pages of information are
constructed in most case on the spot according to the user's
request from data stored in the EBL database. This ensures
that the user can easily locate the information he is interested
in. In addition, as the database increases with new data every
day, the site will be getting more and more knowledgeable!

After a spectacular entry, the site presents a 'headline' page
which resembles the front page of a normal newspaper. There you
read the most recent and important news, and find the way to more
details on the subject of your choice.
Structurally, the site is divided into eight parts:

                   1. Administration - contains information on the League and
its structure (EBL Statutes, the General Assembly, the Executive
and other Committees, Secretariat, Consultants, etc.). A section
on the League's history is under construction.
                  2. Members - all about the EBL member countries (address
                    and contact info, membership, etc.)
                  3. Categories - information on specific categories of players
                    and competitions (Ladies, Seniors, Juniors)
                  4. Departments - areas of activities of the League, from
The Laws of Bridge, Tournament Directing, Systems, Appeals,

            5. Competitions - the EBL tournament calendar with information
on international tournaments organized in our member countries.
Naturally, official EBL tournaments receive very detailed coverage
from the moment they are announced, until the last card has been
played. An additional section on past European Championships will
              be available later.
            6. People - whatever we know (and can publish) about people related
to bridge in whatever way. Tournament records, administrative positions,
distinctions, etc. - even professional and personal information
that the person in question does not object to make publicly available.
            7. Publications - The League's publications, and also information
and reviews on bridge books, bridge newspaper columns, bridge magazines
              and newsletters, etc.
            8. Photo Gallery - This feature is still under construction but
will start being available very soon, providing photos of bridge
personalities and from international events, suitably arranged so
              as to be easily spotted.
The EBL website went on the Internetair with a high volume of data
already available. Nevertheless, certain areas are still under preparation
while others seem to be based on an inadequate number of data. Data
feeding is an ongoing process. EBL personnel is adding data on a
daily basis, so you can be sure that your website will be getting
more and more useful every day.
Visit the new EBL site today, and send your comments and suggestions
on how this public service can be more useful to you.
