The European Bridge League measures achievement in tournament play through the general concept of Master Points.

The EBL Master Points Plan describes how European Master Points (EMPs) are awarded at the various tournaments.
The latest player Classification provides a list of the top European Master Points holders. Both a Historic (awards since 1980; deceased players included) and a Current (awards over the past decade; deceased players not included) record are provided.

The EBL has a Master Points Committee which initiates changes and determines all other matters arising under the EBL Master Points Plan. The Committtee is responsible also for the calculation of the Master Points; therefore, all matters pertaining to Master Points, whether on regulation or calculation, should be addressed directly to the Committee.
