 he 44th GENERALI European Bridge
Championships will be held in Malta, 12-26
June 1999. Held every
odd-numbered year, this is Europe's most prestigious competition. The European
title is contested by the national teams of the EBL member-countries. The
tournament also acts as the qualifier to determine Zone 1's representation in
the world zonal championships (Bermuda Bowl and Venice
Cup).
The Championships comprise the
Open Teams, the
Ladies Teams and the
Senior Teams series. Before the
Ladies Teams the European Ladies
Pairs competition is held.
