At the top it looks like a Four Horse Race,

Barring a loss of form it now appears that we can perm any three from four in the race for Canada. Norway, on 403VPs, still retain a useful lead over Denmark and Israel, who are locked together on 388VPs. They enjoy an eight point advantage over fourth placed Russia. Fifth place is occupied by Iceland but their Victory Point total is only 348 and it is hard to see them or anyone below them making up the ground. By defeating Yugoslavia 19-11 Greece have at last move off the bottom of the table, so Switzerland have it all to do in the last five rounds.

Can Germany make it a Clean Sweep?

The performance of Germany in the Schools Championship so far is perhaps the outstanding achievement of these Championships. They have won their first nine matches and their total of 199VPs puts them 17 points clear of second placed Israel, who have 172VP. Third placed Sweden have 160VPs, five ahead of Great Britain.
