Norway extend their lead over Denmark
as Israel and Russia vie for Third Place

Although there are still eight rounds to go, it is beginning to look like Norway for the Gold medals in the Junior Championship. Their total of 348 VPs puts them 18 clear of second placed Denmark. Israel and Russia are, in the words of Ron Andersen, "Separated by the smallest possible margin", in this case just half a VP. Iceland are fifth but they are more than a match behind the four teams in front of them.

Who will stop Germany?

Their sixth straight win leaves Germany with a lead of 17 VPs in the Schools Championship. The four teams behind them, Israel, Sweden, Austria and Great Britain all collected 25VPs from yesterday's match and no-one is giving up the chase yet.

Garozzo's All Stars to take on Vugraph Production Team

Garozzo's All Stars to take on Vugraph Production Team We are proud to present this challenge match of eight boards which will start at 13.30 today and be shown on vugraph. Everyone involved is giving up their lunch break to entertain you, and as the man with more World Titles to his name than anyone else will be on screen we suggest you make sure you are there too! The All Star Team comprises Benito Garozzo, Vittorio Brandonisio, John Armstrong and Brian Senior. The opposition comes from, John 'Legs' Williams, Giles 'Any Angle' Foster, Nevena 'The Fox' Senior and Kirsten 'Danish' Steen 'Dynamite' Møller. If you know your history you will remember the "Battle of the Little Big Horn". We are expecting a similar result!
