 • Format

The Championships consist of the following events:
 
11th European Open Pairs Championship - Giorgio Belladonna Trophy
Four qualifying sessions, followed by three semifinal and four final sessions. Non-qualfiers may continue to play in the consolation event. Pairs comprising two European Grand Masters of the same NBO will be exempted from the qualifying sessions.
 
  6th European Senior Pairs Championship
Open to players of 55 years or older, it consists of three qualifying and three final sessions with a 2-session consolation event for the non-qualifiers. One session is played every day.
 
 

1st European 'Bridge for All' Tournament
A competition for players who prefer something lighter than championship play. Evening sessions only allow the combination of bridge with sightseeing and recreation. Sessions will be of 20 boards, Mitchell, with separate ranking. A general individual ranking will be published at the end, taking into account one's best three results. A player can participate in one or more sessions, with the same or different partners from any country.

To be paid in cash (Swiss Francs) at the Tournament Reception and Registration Desk in Sorrento Palace Hotel as per schedule.
 
Open Pairs:
 		 SF 500 per pair
  Senior Pairs:
 		 SF 400 per pair
 

Bridge for All:

 SF 10 per player, per session

 • Prizes

Cash prizes will be awarded for all series of the championship. First prizes are as follows:
Final 'A'   SF 10,000 per pair & Giorgio Belladonna Trophy
  Final 'B' SF 3,000 per pair
 

Final 'C'

 SF 1,500 per pair
  Seniors SF 2,500 per pair
  Consolation SF 1,000 per pair


There will be special prizes for the leading ladies and junior pairs and for the best result in the 3rd & 4th final sessions.

Bridge for All. Honour prizes and European Master Points will be awarded to the best ranking pairs of each session. Cash and honour prizes, as well as European Master Points, will be given to the best ranked players in the general ranking.
