The 29th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) has taken place in Warsaw, Poland, November 17-18, 2000.

On the occasion, bridge was introduced to the delegates by the Presidents of the World Bridge Federation José Damiani and European Bridge League Gianarrigo Rona. To demonstrate better what bridge is about, a special tournament was arranged, involving six European countries.

The event, called 1st EOC Bridge Tournament, was organized by the EBL and the Polish Bridge Union, under the patronage of the EOC. It was generously supported by CAIB, CRONIX, PROKOM Software and BRIDGE.
